"Don't Be Greedy"

It is difficult to save money
when your neighbors keep buying
things you can't afford.

Greed can get you what you want,
but rob you of what you already have!

A couple was on their way to a luncheon at a restaurant in an area mall.As they were driving on a road which curved,they run over a cat .They stopped the car in this residential section and were tempted to just drive on.However, they felt they needed to tell someone,so they went up to the home near where the cat was lying and told the resident of the home what had happened. It was the owner of the cat. The people who ran over the cat asked if there is anything they could do. The elderly resident asked if they would take care of disposing of the body of the cat. They went back out to the street and picked the dead cat up and put it in the only bag they had in their car,which was the Nordstrom's bag{an expensive clothing store}. They then decided to keep their luncheon date and take the cat to the animal shelter after lunch.

When they arrived at the mall, they parked in front of the restaurant. They took the Nordstrom's bag with the cat in it and laid it on the hood of their car in case it should start to smell. In the restaurant they could see their car. They noticed a Mercedes Benz pull up next to their car and finely-dressed woman get out. The woman saw the Nordstrom's bag , looked around, grabbed the bag without looking in it. This wealthy woman had evidently thought that she had stolen something of great value and placed the bag by her feet after sitting at a table close by the couple. The couple didn't say a word, but just watched this lady. The lady ordered her meal and was served. Her curiosity got the better of her and she could not resist looking into the bag to see what expensive item she would find.

She leaned over to peek in the sack and fainted dead away.

The manager called an ambulance which arrived within minutes from its station a couple of blocks away. The ambulance attendants gathered up the woman and her personal effects. As they placed the unconscious body into the ambulance,she began to come around just as they placed the Nordstrom's bag containing the dead cat onto the middle of her chest.

Well, that's greed for you. This is the reason why external things are never honest indicators of what happens inside a person. All those fancy clothes and even an expensive Mercedes Benz are no assurances that a person is not greedy.

Now here's the problem with greed. Do you know that greed can get you what you wan't, but it robs you of what you already have? It's true Read through it again. Greed can get you what you want,but can rob you of what you already have. This is not only a truism, it is a fact of life.

Here's what shakespeare said:

"Those that much covert are with gain so fond that what they have not, that which they possess They scatter and unloose it from their bond, And so by hoping more they have but less."

That's the tragedy behind greed .The eyes always long for more.The heart beats faster,sleep eludes him and the greedy person's whole life is consumed with the need to posses-such that he will never have peace unless he gets what he wants,no matter what method he uses in acquiring it." Greed, for lack of a better word,is good. Greed is right.Greed works."

Well, that's what the world says. But that's not what the Bible says. The Bible say's that contentment with Godliness is great gain.The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil. The bible says greed destroys. Its been a long time now. The Bible has not changed and it has not faded. In fact, Jesus Christ says that heaven and earth shall pass away,but the Word of God will never pass away.
