"Love and Marriage"

"Love and Marriage"
by: Francis J. kong
One time a girl innocently said: "My Pastor said we could have 16 husbands.
The second girl was shocked and said; "Are you sure about that? "
The first girl said: "Why, yes. at the last wedding at the church i heard him say, "Four better,Four worse,Four richer,Four poorer! Add all those four's together and you can get sixteen! (Clever, but with a hidden agenda.)
Many marriages today break up. Sad, but what happened to happy?
Somebody says: All marriages are happy. It's the living together afterwards that causes all the trouble.
A couple was having a discussion on family finances.
Finally the husband explode, " If it weren't for my money, the house wouldn't be here!"
His wife replied, " My dear, if it weren't for your money, I wouldn't be here."
Tragic, Isn't it?
Another story:
A very elderly woman showed up at St. Peter's desk in front of the Pearly Gates. (You have to know, ofcourse, that this is just a story and theologically unsound).
"Elizabeth," St. Peter said. "If you can pass a simple spelling test, you can enter heaven. Just spell the word Love."
"L-O-V-E," the woman said.
"Thats right, welcome to heaven."
A few weeks later, St Peter called Elizabeth and asked if she would man his desk at the Pearly Gates while he was off on business. She said she would. Who show up first, but her husband, Henry, desiring entry into heaven.
" You know, Elizabeth, I didn't really expect to make it this close to Heaven with the kind of foolishness I pulled on earth. I have not been faithful to you because I have fooled around with so many women while we were on planet earth. " Henry said. "Dear Elizabeth, in our 50 years together you took care of me when i was sick, sobered me up when I had one too many and were always so forgiving. Now we can be together for eternity."
"Yes, dear, if you pass a simple spelling test, we can be together for eternity," she replied.
" Just spell Czechoslovakia."
"Oh...oh...!"
So many marriages fail today.
So many become casualties.
Kids talk about their biggest success and biggest failure in life.
Many kids feel that they failed in life because their parents broke up. And they seem to blame themselves for what happened to their parents.
If only parents would know how selfish they could be, and that every time their marriages fall apart It's the children who get hurt in the process.
Do you want to have a winning recipe for a successful marriage?
There are many different versions of this popular recipe. Here is one that just might work for everyone.
Start with two stable people, one pound of love and a gallon of commitment. Then add one cup of each: trust, communication, respect, and patience. Mix well and remove any traces of temper, selfishness, and criticism.
Now add 3 tablespoon of pure extract of sincere apology, one cup of cooperation, one cup of encouragement, and one cup of consideration.
Place in a home. Make sure to allow room for children and pets.
Season lightly with a dash of in-laws. Sweeten with memories, shared activities, laughter, and tokens of affection.
Serve with faith and devotion, and enjoy!
And dig this. It takes two whole persons to make a good marriage. And a person can only be whole when he is submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Protect your marriage and don't just expect your marriage to work. Work on your marriage. Only then can it become one of the most satisfying experiences you could ever enjoy here on planet earth.
And if you don't take good care of your marriage, may I suggest you start learning how to spell the word 'Czechoslovakia'.
"I DO," is the longest sentence....

"If You Love Something..."

"If You Love Something..."

Life is a matter of perspective. Even when we talk about sensitive subject matter such as love, it all depends on how you see it and it all depends on your perspective.
A funny little article about loving something and here's how it goes.
THE ORIGINAL VERSION: USED TO BE THIS:
If you love something, Set it free...
If it comes back, It's yours; If it doesn't, it never was yours in the first place.
BUT THE PESSIMIST'S VERSION IS THIS:
If you love somebody , Set her free...
If she ever comes back, she's yours, If she doesn't, well, as expected, she never was.
THE OPTIMIST'S VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
Don't worry, she will come back.
THE SUSPICIOUS' VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
If she ever comes back, ask her why.
THE IMPATIENT PERSON'S VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
If she doesn't come back within some time limit, forget her.
THE PATIENT PERSON'S VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
If she doesn't come back, continue to wait until she comes back...
THE PLAYFUL VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
* If she comes back, and if you love her still, set her free again, repeat*
THE LAWYER'S VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
Clause 1a of Paragraph 13a-1 in the second amendment of the Matrimonial Freedom Act clearly states that...
THE STATISTICIAN'S VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
If she loves you, the probability of her coming back is high.
If she doesn't your relationship was improbable anyway.
THE POSSESSIVE VERSION:
If you love somebody don't ever set her free.
THE MBA VERSION:
If you love somebody, set her free...instantaneously... and look for others simultaneously.
THE PSYCHOLOGIST'S VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
If she comes back, her super ego is dominant. If she doesn't come back, her IQ is supreme. If she doesn't go, she must be crazy.
THE FINANCE EXPERT VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
If she comes back, it's time to look for fresh loans. If she doesn't, write her off as an asset gone bad.
THE MARKETING VERSION:
If you love somebody, Set her free...
If she comes back, she has brand loyalty. If she doesn't, reposition the brand in new markets.
Life is not what happens, but it's how you take it.
Here's my favorite Author Francis J. Kong Version.
If you love somebody, you will care enough to share your life to help, to give, rather than to get or to recieve.
If you love somebody, you will begin to invest more of your time, listen carefully to what that person is saying.
If you love somebody, you will rejoice at that person's success.
And most importantly, if you love somebody, you would pray for that person and bring him or her to the Savior.
Now that's what the real issue in love is all about. And that's the right perspective.
